Kia comes from a retail background where she gained valuable hands on experience of the retail industry whilst completing a university degree in history.
Promoted to the position of Interior Design Manager Kia worked on interior designs for the company for a further 18 months whilst learning the trade in an extremely hands on manner leading her to believe that pursuing a qualification in Interior Design is much like being taught to drive in a classroom: Interior Design is eminently practical and is based upon working with clients.
In December 2008 needing a fresh challenge and, above all, complete autonomy in her work Kia resigned and started her own company - Kia Designs Ltd which she now runs from her home in North London working with clients from all over the capital.

About the design
Controlled Ignition’ is the shell of a formally beautiful building with signs of its former glory shining through. I was thinking about what colourbest fitted the word ‘pimp’ and there could only be one answer: gold and then some more gold. Gold on its own, however, is too boring - it is too controlled and contrived so I found it necessary to add an element of danger: enter ‘extra flammable’ matches on top of spray paint ... the result is stylish, impractical and perfectly unsafe!

As a fan of screens generally I really like the way this could be used as a room divider without blocking off the two parts of the room. Id have this in a big bedroom along with wicker chairs and lots of plants I love it Kia ...
